Florentinum

Florentinum is a modern urban palace in the centre of Prague, built on the site of the former Czech Typography building.

In addition to modern office space, the complex also offers extensive retail premises, not only at ground-floor level but also in a new arcade that provides a direct link between Na Florenci and Na Poříčí streets.
The building enters the organically developed city block as a regular rectangular structure that strictly closes the street frontage and creates a tranquil semi-public courtyard within. The courtyard serves primarily as the point of entry to the individual sections of the complex, but also offers space for socialising and relaxation.

The façade is articulated through an alternation of receding and projecting sections. This principle of subdivision responds to the scale of the surrounding development and helps to break up the impression of a monolithic mass.

Adjacent to the complex is the Desfours Garden, created on the site of the former garages of the Czech Typography. The garden is directly linked to the newly created square and serves tenants and visitors to the building as well as the general public.
